Service pillar

Pinktober

For our daughters, our wives, our sisters, our mothers. A group of men who speak up, raise awareness, and back the projects that save lives.

For the ones we love

Our daughters, our wives, our sisters, our mothers

Breast cancer affects 1 woman in 9 in Belgium. Behind that figure are first names, faces, families. At Table Ronde 06, we choose to speak about it, because staying silent protects no one.

A group of men

Yes, we talk about it. And we act.

Raising awareness around us, relaying charity campaigns, financially supporting local projects. The pink ribbon isn't reserved for women: it's also our fight, as friends, partners, sons and fathers.

Pinktober is our October moment. A colour, a ribbon, a promise: not to let the ones we love go through this alone, and to give prevention the place it deserves.

The figures in Belgium

Data from the Belgian Cancer Registry, Fondation contre le Cancer and the Mammotest programme.

1 / 0

women in Belgium will be affected by breast cancer in her lifetime.

0

new cases every year. The most common cancer in women.

0 %

5-year survival rate when the tumour is detected at an early stage.

0 %

of breast cancers are spotted by women themselves. Self-examination matters.

Sisters at heart

An international family, mobilised every October

Round Table is part of a large family of service clubs in Belgium and around the world. Pinktober is one of the fights we lead together.

Round Table Belgium

18-45

Our home. A network of men aged 18 to 45, across Belgium, mobilised every October around the pink ribbon: walks, pink parties, direct donations to charities.

Ladies Circle Belgium

18-45

Our sisters at heart. The female counterpart of Round Table. Pinktober sits at the heart of their national commitment, with awareness campaigns and fundraisers every year.

Tangent Club Belgium

45+

The club for women aged 45 and over, in the same international family. Very active on prevention, screening and support to patients during and after treatment.

Agora Club Belgium

Friendship

Former Ladies Circle members and committed friends. Active in Pinktober actions in Belgium and abroad, in close contact with local charities.

Adopt, Adapt, Improve. Our shared motto, turned every October into concrete actions, in Belgium and internationally.

Our conviction

Why a group of men speaks up

Because breast cancer isn't only a women's matter. It's also a partner who goes along to appointments, a son who learns of his mother's illness, a father who sees his daughter get the diagnosis, a friend who doesn't know what to say.

Too often, men stay in the background: we don't know how to raise the subject, we're afraid to say the wrong thing, we wait for it to pass. Yet the role of those around the patient counts enormously in the care journey.

Being a tabler also means accepting to speak up on subjects rarely discussed. And to back, in real terms, those who act on the ground.

Life-saving gestures

Prevention, screening, support. Four reflexes to share around you, this month and every other.

Self-examination

Once a month, outside your period. Many breast cancers are detected by women themselves. A simple, quick gesture that can change everything.

The Mammotest

Free in Belgium between 50 and 69, every 2 years. Before 50, talk to your doctor, especially if there is a family history.

Supporting someone close

A sister, a mother, a friend in treatment? A message, a meal, a ride to the hospital. Being there often counts for more than big speeches.

Breaking the silence

Breast cancer also affects men (around 1 % of cases). It's rarely talked about. At Round Table, we help open these conversations.

"Silence protects no one. Talking about it is already starting to heal."
